  International Baccalaureate Program
  The International Baccalaureate Program offers a program which gives a view of the world and allows the acquisition of knowledge and skills based on reflection, dialogue, critical analysis and creativity in an academically rigorous context. It is a school leaving qualification undertaken during the last two years and at the same time an examination recognized by the best universities around the world.
  The IB Diploma curriculum consist of six subject groups. Candidates not taking the full Diploma may earn IB Certificates in individual IB courses within the American Diploma program.
  At AISC, the International Baccalaureate Program is offered as an option for able students in the final two years of secondary. Students who are approved for the IB may be able to exempt the first year and/or courses of American universities or may directly enter 3-year programs at UK universities. At AISC students may be approved for the full IB Diploma program or for individual IB Certificate courses within the American Diploma program. Approval is granted based upon academic strength, personal motivation and interest.
  AISC offers a limited selection of IB courses, offering at least one course within each of the six IB required areas. A student must successfully complete one course from each of the six areas to earn a full IB Diploma, three at IB High Level and three at IB Standard Level. Individual certificates may also be taken.

AISC courses have been aligned to IB requirements. Generally speaking, students with an “A” in a subject in Grade 10 could consider higher level IB classes, a “B” average could consider standard level. Higher level classes require extra hours of classes, some of which may be outside of regular school hours.
