Summer Math & Literacy Practice Work

Students often regress in their math skills and reading levels by one month or more in the absence of practice during the summer months. The summer slide has been well-documented in the research and observed in schools around the world and can contribute to a widening gap in achievement over time. This data reinforces the importance of reading and practicing math skills over the summer holiday. Therefore, we have created a calendar with fun math activities and summer literacy practice for your child to complete over the summer months. It is important that students space out their summer work, doing a little bit each week, rather than completing it all at once right before school begins. The activities are required summer work for students entering Grade 1 through Grade 11 and will enable your child to review concepts and reinforce skills learned during the past school year and be ready to hit the ground running when we return to school at the beginning of September. Wishing you a safe and relaxing summer!
